so how are we spending it?

I’m back from my hiatus!!! (Curse me and my stupid number of hobbies), But I am so so so happy to be back to writing!! I’m going to give you the rundown on how, I, a Minnesota lake and river girl, am going to have a wishbone summer! Mere aka Wishbone Kitchen is the reason that I got into writing on Substack and seriously posting my content. I have a few Wishbone-related things on the agenda, but I also have just general summer-fun ideas to share! Also, if you don’t know Wishbone already, you’re missing out, so look her up before you read to give you some context!

ONE:

Obvs making recipes from the cookbook! There are so many recipes and ways to adjust them to what I have locally. The ones I’m looking forward to most are: The Ultimate Italian Sammie, Sungold Tomato Pasta, and Peach Olive Oil Cake, which leads us to the next item!

TWO:

Summer Dinner Party! This summer, I am hoping to have a summer dinner party, all from the Wishbone cookbook! When that party is planned, I’ll make an article on the menu and decor and another planning tip segment, so be on the lookout!

THREE:

Spending time by the water! I’m lucky enough to be visiting the ocean this summer, but in Oregon, so a little different than the Hamptons 🙃. I will also be spending time at the lake up north, BUT, that doesn’t mean I can’t be like Mere! I’ll just be soaking up the sun on the pontoon instead of the beach!

FOUR:

Enjoying fun little drinks! Mere is a Diet Coke girl… unfortunately, I am not as big a fan, but I’ll be enjoying my Mountain Dew! To be real, it’s any refreshing drink, lemonade, iced tea, iced coffee, Starbucks refreshers, Gatorade, ANYTHING. Enjoying the little things makes life so much more fun.

FIVE:

Outfits! No, I don’t have all of her gorgeous fancy dresses, or the money to buy her wardrobe, but getting dressed in cute summer clothes brings me so much joy. Being dressed up is so good for my mood, and I think having aesthetic summer clothes is so fun!

SIX:

The at-home cafe I was planning in a previous article, oh ya, it’s happening in real life this summer, so stay tuned! If you haven’t read it, go read it after this; it is such a fun concept!
